I've always liked the speedy Dew at that show. 5 star show. How did Jerry go so far down hill so fast after this?

didn't take long did it? nice rebound in 87-90 (for the most part) and sporadically after that. what a shame though huh?

just think what could have been.

Jerry sure did seem to get his spark back in 87. He looked great in those segments with Tom Davis in the ticket to new years video. I dont think his playing ever returned to his pre-83 days after his coma.

I disagree with that. Listen to that 7-9-89 Strat mentioned, or the june 90 Cal Expo run, or... hell I don't know.I think there are a lot of examples 87-91 where the band AND Jerry are playing very inspired. And as far as it being post coma, there was some plenty uninspired playing pre coma too.

I agree that there were lots of great shows after his coma and Jerry was certainly on for many of these. I still don't think he was as good as when he was at his best before the coma. His consistency certainly wasn't as good.

to me his consistency was better 89-91 than the coupla years before the coma. But we all like different things I guess. I can find good things in all years. i like a lot from all years
